Paul Lawrie bows out of inaugural match play event in Aberdeen

Tournament host Paul Lawrie suffers a last-hole defeat to Scottish compatriot Chris Doak in the match play event in Aberdeen.

Chris Doak has recorded a narrow victory over tournament host Paul Lawrie at the Satire Energy Paul Lawrie Match Play event in Aberdeen.

The two Scots were never separated by more than two holes throughout the contest, but Doak held his nerve in the closing stages to edge out his compatriot by one hole.

Fellow Scottish players Richie Ramsey and Marc Warren also recorded victories as they overcame Edoardo Molinari (4&3) and Fabrizio Zanotti (3&2) respectively.

In-form Englishman Matthew Fitzpatrick bowed out in an extra hole to Peter Uihlein, but Nicolas Colsaerts, David Howell and Chris Wood all remain in the tournament.
