Francesco Molinari says that he is "frustrated" on the greens at the Ryder Cup.

Francesco Molinari has said that Europe must improve their putting if they are to have any chance of retaining the Ryder Cup.

The Italian lost his second match of the competition, falling 5&4 to US duo Bubba Watson and Webb Simpson.

The Americans' success at Medinah has been on the greens, as their superior putting has built up a 9-4 lead with three fourballs matches still to be decided.

Molinari said that he and Rose gave their best but were ultimately frustrated with the short stick.

"It is frustrating," Molinari told BBC Sport. "No-one likes to lose.

"We gave it our best but it just wouldn't go our way. We just have to accept defeat and go out tomorrow and make more putts."

Molinari lost his foursomes match paired with Lee Westwood to Jason Dufner and Zach Johnson yesterday.
