Jason Day wins his first WGC title by beating Victor Dubuisson at the fifth extra hole in the Match Play final at Dove Mountain in Arizona.

Jason Day has won his first WGC title by beating Victor Dubuisson at the fifth extra hole in the Match Play final at Dove Mountain in Arizona.

The Australian overcame a fightback from Frenchman Dubuisson to triumph with a birdie at the 23rd.

Meanwhile, Rickie Fowler beat Ernie Els at the 19th hole in the third-place playoff.

Day's victory earns him around £920,000 in prize money, as well as a three-year exemption on the US PGA Tour.

It is also expected to see him rise from 11th to fourth in the world rankings.
