Italian Francesco Molinari produces seven birdies on the final day to claim the Spanish Open title.

Francesco Molinari shot a final day round of 65 to claim the Spanish Open title this afternoon.

The Italian made seven birdies in the opening 14 holes to overhaul the lead that had been held by Englishman Simon Dyson over night.

He concluded with four pars to finish three shots clear of Dane Soren Kjeldsen and Spaniards Pablo Larrazabal and Alejandro Canizares.

"I knew I was playing well. I just needed some putts to drop," said the world number 14. "I was also hoping the other guys would not go too far under par and everything worked out perfectly."

The 29-year-old has won prize money of £271,000 for his success in Seville.
