Charley Hull wins first European Tour title

Charley Hull wins the Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco to register her first victory on the Ladies European Tour.

Charley Hull has won her first Ladies European Tour title by clinching the Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco.

The 17-year-old Briton defeated Gwladys Nocera of France in a playoff on Sunday.

Hull came from five strokes behind to card a closing round of 62 to tie on 15 under and then holed from four feet for birdie on the first extra hole to win the tournament.

"I never backed down and I got there," BBC Sport quotes the teenager as saying. "I'm really happy.

"I shot nine under today which is pretty good and I thought I had it on the last. It just missed and then making birdie in the playoff to win it, my hands were shaking like mad.

"I got my first win while I'm still 17. I'm 18 next week, so I'm really happy."

Hull began her professional career at the same event last year.
