Miguel Angel Jimenez had guided his team into a 5-0 lead after day one, but the Spaniard, who was playing alongside compatriot Pablo Larrazabal, could only tie their match with Thongchai Jaidee and Kiradech Aphibarnrat.
The next three matches saw Asia dominate, with the pairing of Prayad Marksaeng and Kim Hyung-Sung beating Thomas Bjorn and Thorbjorn Olesen, and Anirban Lahiri and Siddikur Rahman recording a single-hole success over Joost Luiten and Victor Dubuisson.
However, Europe ended the day strongly, with Graeme McDowell and Jamie Donaldson edging past Gaganjeet Bhullar and Nicholas Fung by a 2&1 scoreline.
