Colombian Camilo Villegas has a one-shot lead after the first day of the Honda Classic in Florida.

Villegas hit a double-birdie on the final hole at Palm Beach Gardens to give himself a six-under-par round of 64.

South Africa's Branden Grace is joined on five-under with three others, including American Rickie Fowler, while Lee Westwood is among 10 players who are a shot further back thanks to an opening round of 66.

Graeme McDowell finished the session with a three-under round of 67 and Justin Rose ended the day on two-under.

Defending champion Rory McIlroy endured a difficult day out on the course as two bogeys cancelled out his two birdies to see him finish on even-par with Tiger Woods.
