Paul Dunne, Jimmy Mullen, Kristoffer Broberg share lead at Alfred Dunhill Links Championship

Paul Dunne, Jimmy Mullen and Kristoffer Broberg share the lead at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship after the first day of action at Kingsbarns and Carnoustie.

Paul Dunne, Jimmy Mullen and Kristoffer Broberg have ended the first day at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship in the lead, all three playing a round of 64 for a one-shot advantage over a host of other players.

Ireland's Dunne birdied his final hole at Kingsbarns to join England's Mullen and Sweden's Broberg, both making their professional debuts, at the top of the leaderboard on eight-under.

Broberg was the lone player to shoot better than five-under on the Old Course, while none of the golfers starting on Carnoustie cracked the top 10.

Soren Kjeldsen's blemish-free 65 at Kingsbarns, the venue for the majority of the low scoring during the opening day, leaves him in a tie for fourth alongside Richard Bland and Anthony Wall, with Australia's Marcus Fraser a further stroke off the pace.

Scotland's Marc Warren and Ryder Cup teammates Graeme McDowell and Martin Kaymer are four shots off the pace after rounds of 68, the lowest of the day at Carnoustie.
