Ian Poulter has blasted his performance off the tee during his second round at the Texas Open.

The 37-year-old shot 75 in San Antonio to leave himself tied for 63rd on one-over-par, nine shots off the pace set by Billy Horschel.

Europe's Ryder Cup hero expressed frustration with his driver after hitting just two of 14 fairways, but feels that he has corrected the problem on the range.

He tweeted: "On the range giving myself a talking to. I was utter dog meat today. Absolutely disgraceful off the tee. But I can still win. No mistakes.

"In fact I hit 2/14 fairways today. That's just simply shit. I'm so pissed mad its crazy. Just hit 100 drivers on the range. And sorted it."

Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy has left himself in contention on five-under following his second round.
