Europe's Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley has announced that he will have three wildcard picks for the 2014 event.
In more recent versions of the tournament, the European skipper has selected two players from outside the top 10 of the rankings.
However, following the recent revelation from USA captain Tom Watson that he would be cutting his wildcard options from four to three, 46-year-old McGinley has opted to match up with his opposite number.
The three picks will form part of a European unit that will attempt to defend the trophy at Gleneagles.
