Marc Leishman hails "amazing week" after claiming Nedbank Challenge title

Marc Leishman admits to being pleased at the way in which he got himself over the line to claim his first European Tour title success in Sun City.

Marc Leishman has admitted that he was delighted by the way in which he cruised to his first European Tour title success.

The 32-year-old finished six shots clear of closest challenger Henrik Stenson on Sunday afternoon after storming clear on the back nine.

Not since winning the Travelers Championship in 2012 had Leishman triumphed on the world stage, with a round-of-the-day 67 proving enough for the Aussie to come out on top in Sun City.

"It's a lot easier when you don't have to make up ground and it was a great finish," Sky Sports News quotes him as saying. "Henrik was getting away a bit on Saturday but it's been an amazing week.

"I knew it was going to be a really tough day, I knew I had to play well. I'm really pleased that I could play as well as I did and have a little bit of a buffer there at the end."

Chris Wood finished in third, while last year's winner Danny Willett had to settle for a four-way tie in fourth place.
