Shane Lowry hopes to maintain Handa Wales Open form

Shane Lowry eyes a third career title after taking a one-shot lead into the weekend session at the ISPS Handa Wales Open at Celtic Manor.

Irish golfer Shane Lowry is hopeful that he can maintain his form at the ISPS Handa Wales Open over the weekend to win his third European Tour title.

The 27-year-old kicks off the Saturday session at Celtic Manor with a one-shot lead over Joost Luiten after carding a 65 on Friday to leave him on nine-under-par.

"I'm pretty happy. I've never, ever done well here before so to be leading after two rounds is nice," he told Sky Sports News.

"Still a long way to go in the tournament but I'm really looking forward to the weekend."

Lowry previously won the Irish Open as an amateur in 2009, before winning the Portugal Masters three years later in 2012.
