The Irish Open is suspended temporarily due to the risk of lightning at the Portrush.

The Irish Open has been temporarily suspended due to adverse weather conditions in Northern Ireland.

Play was called off by organisers due to a threat of lightning at Portrush following heavy rain showers over the course of the morning.

Jeev Milkha Singh is currently leading in the clubhouse after carding a seven-under 65 but it is a close affair as 19 players sit within three shots of the Indian professional.

They include Irishmen Graeme McDowell and Rory McIlroy, who are both one under par, while Padraig Harrington sits five under and Ross Fisher on four under par.
