Bill Haas leads the way at The Masters after round one

American Bill Haas leads the way on four-under-par after round one of The Masters.

Bill Haas has emerged as the clubhouse leader after the first round of The Masters in Augusta reached its conclusion.

The American carded a four-under-par score of 68 at the end of day one, putting him one shot ahead of Adam Scott, Louis Oosthuizen and Bubba Watson.

World number nine Rory McIlroy is in contention after carding a one-under-par score of 71, while England's Lee Westwood came in one over on 73.

Justin Rose and Ian Poulter fared poorly with four-over scores, while a two-stoke penalty saw Luke Donald finish on an even more troubling seven-over-par score of 79.
