Lee Westwood double-bogeyed his final hole of the day to leave him on four-under-par after day two of the Masters in Augusta.

The Englishman, who was on five-under after the first round, had kept par on each hole of the front nine.

The world number three dropped a shot on the 11th, but managed to return to five-under on the next hole.

It got better for Westwood when he birdied the 15th, but a disappointing six on the last hole put him on four-under.

"It was a disappointing way to finish, but if you get out of position on this course it can punish you," he said. "These things happen and they will happen to everybody.

"Henrik Stenson was leading when he took eight on the same hole yesterday. I thought I made a few putts that didn't drop, but I'm right in there for the weekend and that's where I want to be."

Despite the struggle at the end, Westwood remains one shot off the clubhouse lead held by Jason Dufner and veteran Fred Couples.
