The American carded a three-under 69 in the final round to finish on eight-under for the tournament, becoming the 17th man to claim a second green jacket.

Debutants Jordan Spieth and Jonas Blixt tied for second position, as Watson hit three birdies in four holes on the front nine.

Fifty-year-old Spaniard Miguel Angel Jimenez finished in fourth place on four-under after a final round of 71, while American duo Rickie Fowler and Matt Kuchar claimed joint-fifth on two-under.
