Justin Rose says that he needs to 'warm his putter up' in order to move up the leaderboard at the Masters.

Justin Rose has said that he is "encouraged" to be within three shots of the lead heading into the weekend at Augusta, despite not performing with his putter.

The 32-year-old is on three-under-par following rounds of 70 and 71 and believes that he can shoot up the leaderboard should he start rolling in some putts.

"I just need to warm my blade up," The Guardian quotes Rose as saying. "I haven't made a putt in two days and I am where I am.

"I'm very encouraged by that. I'm trying to stay patient right now.

"Typically, when I've won tournaments that's what's happened. My putter has heated up on the weekend and I've been able to take advantage of my good play."

Rose is still waiting for his first Major triumph.
