Start of The Open's second round delayed at St Andrews due to rain

The start of The Open's second round is suspended at St Andrews due to heavy rain.

The start of the second round of The Open at St Andrews has been delayed due to heavy rain on the course.

Play was due to begin at around 6.30am, but organisers have decided to keep the players away from the course for the time being due to the weather.

The Open's official Twitter page confirmed the suspension, while Bernd Wiesberger uploaded a photo of the rain-drenched greens.

American Dustin Johnson currently has a one-shot lead after hitting seven-under 65 in the opening round in Scotland.
