Daniel Ricciardo expects Red Bull, Ferrari, Williams battle

Daniel Ricciardo says that Ferrari and Williams will challenge Red Bull to a podium place at the Formula 1 opener in Melbourne.

Red Bull driver Daniel Ricciardo has said that he expects Ferrari and Williams to challenge Red Bull for a place on the podium in Melbourne.

Ferrari appear to have improved following winter testing, and Williams' Valtteri Bottas set the pace on the final day of testing.

"I think Mercedes are the ones in front and then I think it's pretty close between Williams, Ferrari and us at the moment. We'll see in Melbourne," Ricciardo told Sky Sports News.

Ricciardo finished third in last season's Formula 1 World Championship, two positions ahead of teammate Sebastian Vettel.
