Formula 1 team Red Bull have confirmed that they have lodged a formal appeal to the FIA over Daniel Ricciardo's disqualification from the Australian Grand Prix last weekend.
The Australian finished second in his home Grand Prix, but was disqualified because the FIA sensors claimed that his car exceeded the maximum 100kg per hour fuel flow rate.
After the initial verdict Red Bull said that their own readings were correct and they have now decided to take further action on Thursday's appeal deadline.
The hearing date for the appeal should be announced within a week after the governing body have processed the application.
