McLaren's Kevin Magnussen has said that his third-placed finish at the Australian Grand Prix on Sunday feels "surreal".
The 21-year-old became the first ever Danish driver to make it onto the podium as the season got off to an eventful start in Melbourne.
Mercedes's Nico Rosberg won the race, while Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo finished in second place.
"It's hard to believe and it seems so surreal. The car was so much better than it has been and I had just exactly what we needed for the whole race," Magnussen is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.
"The preparation we have done have been fantastic. I have never had a Formula 1 race and you only get limited time testing, so congratulations to the team for doing such a good job."
The new Formula 1 season resumes on the final weekend of March at the Malaysian Grand Prix.
