Lewis Hamilton has said that his race win at the Japanese Grand Prix was "enjoyable" until he saw the aftermath of Jules Bianchi's crash.
The Marussia driver is thought to have collided with a recovery vehicle dealing with another incident in wet conditions at Suzuka, causing the race to be cut short.
The Briton told BBC Sport: "It's not nice to hear one of our colleagues is seriously injured so that's the main worry. Before that it was so enjoyable. You could see some commotion and the car was really badly damaged on the right. So we just hope he's OK.
"In the wet it is always tough. It's very twitchy and it was hard to catch Nico [Rosberg]. It was not as hardcore as in the past. Silverstone 2008 had more water."
The FIA has confirmed that Bianchi was unconscious following the collision and has been taken to a nearby hospital.
