Lewis Hamilton has confessed that he had a "bad day" at the office as he finished sixth in the Hungarian Grand Prix.
The 30-year-old began the race in pole position, but a poor start saw him drop down to fourth in the first corner.
Hamilton then fell to 10th place when he botched an attempt to overtake Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg, while further drama was to follow when he was involved in a crash with Daniel Ricciardo on lap 49.
The incident dropped him down to 13th place, but he managed to maintain his composure to finish in sixth, two places ahead of his rival Rosberg.
"The start wasn't actually that tricky, the Ferraris got a good start or whoever it was behind. But what a day, that was a hard afternoon," Hamilton told Sky Sports News.
"I haven't even thought about it yet, so I don't feel relieved at the moment.
"I definitely had a bad day in the office, a very bad day in the office, but I'm grateful that the team did a great job with the calls so I was at least able to get a couple of points."
Hamilton holds a 21-point lead over Rosberg at the top of the drivers' championship.
