Lewis Hamilton vows to race at German Grand Prix despite pain

Mercedes's Lewis Hamilton insists that he will be taking part in the German Grand Prix despite being left in pain following a crash in qualifying.

Lewis Hamilton has insisted that he will be racing at the German Grand Prix tomorrow despite being involved in a heavy collision in qualifying.

The Briton's Mercedes suffered a brake disc failure, causing him to spin into the barrier at high speed at the Hockenheimring this afternoon.

After undergoing medical checks, he told Sky Sports News: "I'm in a little bit of pain but that is what happens when you have a crash like that, I think they said I pulled something like 30G. But even if something is broken I will still be racing tomorrow."

Having been unable to post a time in Q2, Hamilton will start from 16th on the grid.
