Yeovil Town sack manager Paul Sturrock

League Two strugglers Yeovil Town sack manager Paul Sturrock.

League Two strugglers Yeovil Town have sacked manager Paul Sturrock after a run of 12 games without a win.

Yeovil are bottom of the Football League with 11 points from 20 matches, and Sturrock leaves after eight months in charge.

He took over with the club all but relegated from League One and has not been able to push them towards the top of League Two this season.

Glovers chairman John Fry told the club website: "We are very sad that the board had to reach this decision today and we thank Paul for his hard work during his time at Huish Park.

"We wish him well for the future, however we all felt that in the light of recent results we had no alternative. We will now begin our search for a new manager."

Darren Way will take charge as interim manager with immediate effect with Terry Skiverton assisting him.
