Wycombe Wanderers confirm length of new Gareth Ainsworth deal

Wycombe Wanderers reveal that manager Gareth Ainsworth signed a new five-and-a-half-year deal in December.

Wycombe Wanderers have confirmed that manager Gareth Ainsworth signed a five-and-a-half-year contract extension last month.

The League Two club announced on Boxing Day that the 41-year-old had penned a new deal, but they failed to reveal its length.

Ainsworth, who took charge of Wycombe in 2012, has guided the team to the top of the table this season.

"Gareth is the perfect fit for Wycombe Wanderers - that's never been in doubt since the day I walked into the club and he will play a huge part in what we see as being a bright future," chairman Andrew Howard told the club's official website.

"He has the utmost respect of his staff, players and everyone who works for Wycombe Wanderers, and his new contract gives security both to the club and to him so that we can all plan for the future with him as our manager."

Wycombe are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Mansfield Town in the league.
