Wolverhampton Wanderers 'lining up £18m Adama Traore move'

Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly considering triggering the £18m release clause in Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore's contract.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly lining up an £18m move for Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore.

Newly-promoted Wolves are understood to be battling with Premier League rivals Huddersfield Town for the 22-year-old's signature this summer, but Boro are unwilling to consider offers for the attacker.

Middlesbrough boss Tony Pulis sees Traore as a key piece in his plan to win promotion back to the Premier League next season.

However, the former Barcelona player has an £18m release clause in his contract, and The Independent reports that Wolves are considering triggering that in order to beat Huddersfield to the punch.

Traore would be open to a return to the Premier League, having spent the past two seasons in the Championship with Aston Villa and Boro.

The speedy winger made 23 appearances for Boro across all competitions last season, scoring three goals.
