Harry Redknapp confirms enquiry for Wolverhampton Wanderers' winger Bakary Sako

QPR boss Harry Redknapp reveals that the club have made an enquiry for Wolves winger Bakary Sako.

Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp has revealed that the club have approached Wolverhampton Wanderers over the possibility of signing Bakary Sako.

The Malian winger, whose contract at Molineux expires at the end of the season, has also attracted interest from local rivals West Bromwich Albion.

Redknapp has admitted to struggling to get deals over the line this month and a move for Sako is another that is likely to end in failure, although that has not stopped the Hoops from enquiring over the 26-year-old, who has seven goals in 25 games for Wolves this term.

"We made an enquiry about him. Les Ferdinand spoke to the people there," Redknapp told reporters.

He added: "We are looking for a couple of loans. If we can find deals we will do them, but we need to get them over the line and, at the moment we are not close to doing anyone.

"Up front, that's where we are looking. The chairman and Les are getting on with that side of it, working away, but it's not easy."

The Express & Star claims that Sako would be reluctant to leave Wolves for a team facing Premier League relegation this month and would instead prefer to have his pick of clubs in the summer.
