Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Kenny Jackett has said that the club have had a bid for Tours striker Andy Delort rejected.
The Frenchman is believed to be on the verge of joining Wigan Athletic and was paraded at the DW Stadium during the Latics' 4-0 win over Birmingham City on Saturday.
However, Tours have since denied that an agreement for his transfer has been reached, and Jackett is hopeful that a potential deal could still happen.
"We put a bid in for Andy Delort but we haven't been able to close that deal," the Birmingham Mail quotes him as saying.
"Nothing has been agreed. But we did put a considerable bid in. I don't know where it is but no deal has been done. Whether it comes back in the next 48 hours, I don't know. But nothing could be agreed."
Delort was the top scorer in Ligue 2 last season with 24 goals.
