Wolverhampton Wanderers ease to victory over Oldham Athletic

Goals from James Henry and Leigh Griffiths prove sufficient as Wolverhampton Wanderers dispatch Oldham Athletic.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have moved to within three points of Leyton Orient at the summit of League One following a comfortable 2-0 victory over Oldham Athletic at Molineux.

With both teams struggling with the wet conditions throughout the opening 45 minutes, Kenny Jackett's men found their stride as the rain curtailed in the second half.

James Henry opened the scoring on 50 minutes, stroking past goalkeeper Mark Oxley following a neat Bakary Sako pass to claim his first Wolves goal.

It was not long before it was two, with Sako menacing once more to tee up hitman Leigh Griffiths to finish past Oxley.

The Latics struggled to create the opportunities necessary to forge a comeback, and Jackett's men eased to the victory.
