Kenny Jackett praises Tommy Rowe professionalism

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Kenny Jackett praises the professionalism of Tommy Rowe after the midfielder missed out on his first two Championship squads.

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Kenny Jackett has revealed that Tommy Rowe is continuing to work towards a place in the first-team squad at Molineux.

Rowe made just 14 appearances last season after his year was hampered by injury, but despite taking a full part in pre-season training, the former Peterborough United man hasn't featured in either of the club's opening Championship fixtures.

However, Jackett has insisted that Rowe still has a future at Wolves and has backed the versatile player to return to the starting lineup.

The 53-year-old is quoted by the Express & Star as saying: "His concentration after his injury problems has been on playing several games in pre-season and under-21 games, and frustratingly he hasn't figured for us yet. He's determined to make sure he pushes his way in to the starting XI.

"He's a superb professional and his and our focus is on being as strong as he possibly can, getting back towards full fitness and then making one of those left side berths his own. That's exactly where he is at the moment."

Rowe was signed by Jackett last summer.
