Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Leander Dendoncker has picked up an injury while on international duty with Belgium and will miss tonight's UEFA Euro 2020 qualifier against San Marino.
The 24-year-old, who joined Wolves in 2018, has enjoyed a bright start to the 2019-20 campaign, netting the goal which clinched Europa League qualification against Torino.
Dendoncker's workload this season has been greater than most, with the Belgian making 10 appearances and coming off the bench in just two of those games.
Speaking to HLN about the injury, Belgium boss Roberto Martinez said: "Leander Dendoncker got a kick and won't be fit for the game against San Marino. I think we can recover Leander against Scotland next Monday."
Having qualified for the Europa League group stages, Wolves are guaranteed to play a minimum of 12 games in Europe this season, adding to the workload of Nuno Espirito Santo's side.
Dendoncker, who played at the World Cup last year, will hope to return to action in time for Belgium's trip to Hampden Park to face Scotland on Monday.
