Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Bruno Lage is confident that the goals will soon start flowing in for Raul Jimenez.

Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Bruno Lage has brushed off concern regarding Raul Jimenez's early-season goal drought.

The Mexico international is still awaiting his first competitive goal since returning from a sickening skull fracture and has played every minute of the current Premier League season without finding the back of the net.

Wolves have largely struggled for attacking inspiration without Jimenez firing on all cylinders, but Lage is confident that the 30-year-old will rediscover his best form soon.

"Every day in training he is working hard to score goals. He knows the pressure is on him. He needs to continue to work. Our fans are waiting for him to score goals. They are coming," Lage was quoted as saying by the Express & Star.

The Wolves coach was also asked about Jimenez removing his headguard in the defeat to Brentford, saying: "He knows (he needs to keep it on). In that situation the emotional side after a big chance he took it off. It was a big surprise when I was told after the game."

Jimenez boasts a total of 48 goals in 115 appearances for the Molineux side and will aim to build on a respectable record of three goals from five games against Southampton this weekend.
