Half-Time Report: Wolverhampton Wanderers ahead at Walsall

Wolverhampton Wanderers edge ahead of Walsall at half time, thanks to a tap-in from Nouha Dicko.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are 1-0 up against Walsall in League One, thanks to a goal from Nouha Dicko.

Wolves have produced the better football and more clear-cut chances, but find themselves only one ahead after a hard-fought first half.

Walsall started well with Fabien Brandy looking lively early on and forcing the visitors onto the back foot.

The visitors got stronger as the half wore on with Michael Jacobs and James Henry failing to really test the goalkeeper from outside the box, before Dicko's swerving effort was well saved.

Dicko wasn't to be denied for long, though, as he reacted quickest in the box to tap home Henry's pass.

The home side responded with a long-range strike from Milan Lalkovic which grazed the post and a powerful effort by Troy Hewitt, but failed to find an equaliser before the interval.
