Wigan Athletic confirm Boselli deal with Palermo

Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez confirms that Argentine forward Mauro Boselli will join Palermo on loan until the end of the season.

Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has confirmed that Mauro Boselli has agreed to join Palermo on loan until the end of the season.

The 27-year-old has had spells on loan at Genoa and Estudiantes since signing for the Latics in 2010.

"We agreed a loan deal with Palermo and Mauro will go back to Italy where he had a spell with Genoa until the end of the season," said Martinez.

"That was done this morning and that is the reason why he wasn't in the squad [for the 1-0 win at Macclesfield]."

Boselli has scored four goals in 12 first-team appearances for Wigan this season.
