Team News: Jonathan Woodgate, Jelle Vossen return for Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka brings Jonathan Woodgate and Jelle Vossen back into the side for the visit of Championship strugglers Wigan Athletic.

Middlesbrough captain Jonathan Woodgate and striker Jelle Vossen have returned to the side for the visit of Wigan Athletic in the Championship this afternoon.

Boro manager Aitor Karanka has brought the pair in to replace Emilio Nsue and Lee Tomlin respectively.

James McClean returns to the Wigan side for the trip to the Riverside Stadium after serving a two-match suspension.

The winger's return means that the struggling Latics have made just one change to their side for today's game, with Marc-Antoine Fortune dropping to the bench.

Wigan boss Malky Mackay has opted to leave Martyn Waghorn on the bench, despite the striker netting in the 1-1 draw with Bolton Wanderers last time out.

Middlesbrough: Konstantopoulos; Kalas, Woodgate, Gibson, Friend; Adomah, Clayton, Leadbitter, Reach; Vossen, Bamford

Wigan: Al Habsi; Boyce, Pearce, Bong, Maguire; McClean, Pennant, Perch, Kim; Murphy, Clarke
