Roberto Martinez admits that Wigan Athletic need to win their remaining Premier League matches to stave off relegation.

Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has admitted that his side need to win their final games of the season to retain their Premier League status.

The Latics remained third from bottom in the league as they were defeated 2-0 by West Ham United at Upton Park on Saturday.

"Every game is must-win game," BBC Sport quotes him as saying. "You look at the amount of points we have and it is not enough.

"We should have had something from the game. The second half was as one-sided a game as you will see and to lose [the half] 1-0 was difficult to explain. The team looked a little bit affected by the [Manchester City] fixture on Wednesday."

Queens Park Rangers and Reading are the other two sides in the relegation zone.
