Roberto Martinez happy with current squad

Roberto Martinez claims that his current Wigan squad are good enough to survive in the Premier League.

Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has claimed that the club's current squad is good enough to stave off relegation.

Despite being bottom of the Premier League, Martinez only signed Jean Beausejour during the January transfer window and believes the team's previous history is key in the fight against the drop.

The Spaniard said: "I'm quite happy to go with the squad we have got.

"Through the last two or more seasons the whole squad know what it takes to be competitive until the last day of the season and to survive in this league.

"It's not about bringing players in for the sake of it."

Wigan face Everton at the DW Stadium on Saturday.
