Half-Time Report: Doncaster Rovers 2-0 up against Wigan Athletic

Doncaster Rovers lead Wigan Athletic 2-0 at half time in their Championship clash.

Doncaster Rovers are leading Wigan Athletic 2-0 in tonight's Championship clash.

Wigan had an early free kick but Doncaster goalkeeper Ross Turnbull managed to get a touch to divert it away from Leon Barnett.

The early stages were devoid of any real chances, although there was a high tempo to the game.

Stephen Crainey got down the left for Wigan, but his cross was headed out by Rob Jones before it could reach Grant Holt.

Holt was involved again soon after, but his side-footed shot was saved at point-blank range by Turnbull.

The former Norwich Ciy striker then had claims for a penalty turned down by the referee.

However, it was Doncaster who took the lead through a Theo Robinson goal. The former Derby County man picked up the ball with his back to goal, before turning and shooting low into the corner.

Chris Brown added to the lead just before the interval as he headed home from close range.
