David Sullivan: 'Winston Reid wants European football'

Co-chairman David Sullivan admits that Winston Reid may leave West Ham United to secure regular European football.

West Ham United co-chairman David Sullivan has conceded that the club may lose Winston Reid if they do not qualify for European football this season.

The centre-back, who has been linked with the likes of Arsenal in recent months, will be out of contract in the summer.

Sullivan has revealed that the New Zealand international has been made "an incredible offer" to remain at Upton Park, but he also admitted that a lot will depend on where the Hammers finish in the Premier League.

"Winston has got to decide if he wants to play for West Ham or someone else. We hope he stays, but if he doesn't, no player is bigger than the club. We've made him an incredible offer - it's his decision. With him, it's more about football than it is about money," Sullivan told Sky Sports News.

"A lot will depend on the season we have and where we finish. He wants to play European football - he has said that to me."

Reid, 26, joined West Ham from Danish outfit FC Midtjylland in 2010.
