West Ham United co-owner David Sullivan has revealed that they have offered goalkeeper Robert Green a new deal but understands that it may not be enough to keep him.
Reports last month claimed that the England international was considering an exit from Upton Park unless the Hammers could reach promotion to the Premier League.
"Green's contract is up this summer," The Guardian quotes Sullivan as saying. "We have made him a fantastic offer, subject to us [getting promoted and] staying in the Premier League.
"But if we don't stay in the Premier League, we won't be able to afford him and he won't want to stay. So we have to go up."
The Hammers are currently second in the league table, with a return to the top flight on the cards.
