Sam Allardyce: 'Ravel Morrison must knuckle down'

Ravel Morrison may still have a future at West Ham United if he applies himself correctly, according to manager Sam Allardyce.

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has hinted that Ravel Morrison could still have a future at the club.

Allardyce recently claimed that the former Manchester United youngster, who was farmed out on loan to Queens Park Rangers last season, was not a part of his plans at Upton Park.

However, Allardyce has now backtracked and he has revealed that providing Morrison puts in the effort, he can perhaps feature for the East Londoners under his management.

"We thought we'd brought Ravel to the forefront of his abilities this time last season," he told talkSPORT.

"He had a fantastic pre-season and started the season very well. That drifted away a bit and he ended up at QPR, helping them get promoted. If he gets back to knuckling down, and getting used to the discipline side of the game, then his talents are outstanding."

The 21-year-old joined West Ham back in January 2012.
