Winston Reid: 'Victory over Manchester United was meant to be'

West Ham United match-winner Winston Reid hails the Boleyn Ground atmosphere and believes that his side's 3-2 victory over Manchester United was "meant to be".

West Ham United defender Winston Reid has said that his side's 3-2 victory over Manchester United was "meant to be" on their final appearance at the Boleyn Ground.

The Hammers said goodbye to their home of 112 years with a dramatic late comeback over the Red Devils as Reid scored the winner to keep Europa League qualification in his side's own hands.

The fans were particularly noisy throughout the match, and Reid hailed the atmosphere as the best that he has ever experienced as a player.

"It was just meant to be tonight. It is brilliant for us," he told Sky Sports News.

"It was the best atmosphere we have played in. The fans have been with us through the good times and the bad times."

West Ham's victory was the first time that they have beaten Manchester United in their last 15 Premier League meetings.
