Mark Hughes: 'We deserved all three points'

Mark Hughes insists that his side deserved all three points from their 1-1 draw with West Ham United.

Mark Hughes has insisted that his side deserved all three points in their 1-1 draw with West Ham United today.

The Stoke City manager believes that his side should have won the game despite the Potters being the team to score a last-minute equaliser courtesy of Marko Arnautovic. Aaron Cresswell had earlier opened the scoring for the Hammers but Arnautovic had two efforts ruled out for offside.

"I thought we were the totally dominant team today. After the setback of the goal we conceded early, we had to really bounce back and try and get back into the game," the 51-year-old told the club's official website.

"It looked for a long time that we weren't going to be able to do it and we tried almost everything, we had two goals chalked for off ide, hit the inside of the post and had chances blocked.

"In terms of possession we totally dominated as an away team so when we got into the fourth minute of added on time it looked as though it wasn't going to be our day. Credit to the lads, I thought they were brilliant and they were determined to get something out of this game."

The result fails to not only separate the two sides on the pitch but also in the table as Stoke sit in tenth level on points with the Hammers, who are in ninth on goal difference.
