Sam Allardyce urges his West Ham United players to win easier as his "heart can't stand" their ten-man dramatics.

West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce has called on his team to look after his health by cutting out red cards, following West Ham United's "outstanding" 4-1 win over Blackpool.

The Hammers had to play a large part of the game with ten men for the third consecutive match, after goalkeeper Robert Green was dismissed for a professional foul on 53 minutes.

Despite their numerical disadvantage, and having on-loan Arsenal midfielder Henri Lansbury in goal for over half an hour, West Ham managed to extend their lead and run out comfortable winners.

Speaking after the match, Allardyce said: "I thought the lads coped with it exceptionally well and I didn't think they'd cope with it to the level they did.

"Not only did we cope with what Blackpool had to throw at us with the extra man but we started to play, create chances and punish the opposition to the highest order.

"To win 4-1 with ten men is an outstanding performance. From start to finish it was an outstanding performance from every individual that took part."

Allardyce underwent a minor heart procedure in November 2009 while he was manager of Blackburn Rovers, forcing him to miss three matches.

"We've won seven points out of nine with ten men, but we've got to stop it because my heart can't stand it," he added.

The result took the East Londoners to the top of the Championship table.
