West Bromwich Albion have completed the signing of Nicolas Anelka on a one-year deal.

The former Chelsea striker becomes the Baggies' first signing of the summer and joins the club on a free transfer after leaving Shanghai Shenhua last season.

The 34-year-old's deal at The Hawthorns has the option of a further year should the Baggies choose to extend his deal.

West Brom will be Anelka's sixth Premier League club after he previously spent time at Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, Bolton Wanderers and Chelsea.

The striker will wear the number 39 shirt at the Baggies.
