Paul Scharner misses Arsenal match

Paul Scharner will miss West Bromwich Albion's Premier League fixture against Arsenal this weekend.

West Bromwich Albion midfielder Paul Scharner has been ruled out of the weekend's match against Arsenal.

The Austrian tore his medial knee ligament during his side's 2-0 loss to Liverpool on Saturday.

"Paul's got a grade one tear to his medial ligament on his left knee," said Baggies assistant manager Michael Appleton.

"It's not a serious one but it is highly unlikely he is going to be fit to play at the weekend."

Scharner joined West Brom in 2010 from Wigan Athletic.
