Roberto Martinez: 'Comeback win against West Bromwich Albion feels extra good'

Everton manager Roberto Martinez hails his side as they overturned a two-goal deficit to clinch an emphatic 3-2 win at West Bromwich Albion on Monday.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has praised his side for overturning a two-goal deficit to clinch an emphatic 3-2 Premier League win at West Bromwich Albion on Monday.

Saido Berahino fired the Baggies ahead at the end of the first half, before Craig Dawson headed in after the break to double their lead.

Romelu Lukaku quickly pulled a goal back for the Toffees, who then levelled the scores when Arouna Kone drilled past Boaz Myhill, before Lukaku added a second late on to seal the remarkable turnaround.

Martinez told reporters after the game: "We were very disappointed with the first half. We were off, every single individual.

"The mountain we had to climb, it would have been easy to lose focus but we got three goals against the best defensive structure in the Premier League.

"Every three points is huge but it feels extra good. Gerard Deulofeu took extra responsibility, he wanted the ball all night and it was a real mature performance."

The Toffees host Liverpool in the Merseyside derby on Sunday afternoon.
