West Bromwich Albion confirm that Nicolas Anelka will return to training on Thursday following an absence on compassionate grounds.

West Bromwich Albion have confirmed that Nicolas Anelka will return to training on Thursday.

The French striker had been considering retiring from football following the recent death of his agent.

However, the 34-year-old is now available for Sunday's Premier League visit of Swansea City.

Anelka joined West Brom on a free transfer from Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua over the summer.
