Half-Time Report: Spectacular goals at both ends as West Bromwich Albion lead Cardiff City

West Bromwich Albion lead fellow Premier League strugglers Cardiff City 2-1 at the break.

Pepe Mel is on course for his second victory as West Bromwich Albion boss as his side lead Cardiff City 2-1 at the break in the Premier League this afternoon.

The Baggies took the lead inside two minutes when French winger Morgan Amalfitano pulled off a great lob from the right wing that Cardiff keeper David Marshall could only watch sail over his head and into the far corner.

It was two before 10 minutes when Graham Dorrans netted his first goal of the season by tapping home Matej Vydra's pass across the six-yard box.

Cardiff halved the deficit on the half-hour mark when Jordan Mutch scored a similar goal to Amalfitano, picking out the far top corner with a 35-yard shot from a narrow angle.
